Here they are. Please meet Robert Tradd Mercer and Sophia Riley Mercer. Tradd is five months old in this picture and Sophia is 3 months old. The first question everyone asks is "are they twins" well no, and they are not related by birth. Tradd and Sophia are two beautiful children that were placed for adoption in Guatemala. Guatemala is a country that is located south of Mexico and adjoins the countries of Belize, Honduras to the south and El Salvador to the south and is bordered by the Pacific ocean to the west. Guatemala is a beautiful country, where if you remember your history, the original Mayan people group comes from.
Tradd and Sophia each live with a foster mother in Guatemala. We were connected with Tradd and Sophia through our adoption agency in Florida called Celebrate Children International. We have been working with CCI since early September to bring the kids home. Trust us, adopting a child, much less two, is a huge undertaking. Just trying to get all the paperwork together and sent through the proper channels can take months.
Please pray that God allows the adoptions to go smoothly and quickly. We can't wait to bring them home!

Wow! What an incredible journey that you all are on. A Happy New Year indeed! We are delighted that you have chosen the name Tradd!(and love the name Sophia, too). They are both beautiful babies. We know that they will be welcomed additions to the Mercer household and that you will have plenty of help :)
